At the Movies

The children of Firetree Place, Williamsport, PA, were recent recipients of Exquisite Life’s philanthropic endeavors, after Exquisite Life founder Tonya Anderson responded to a request to provide them with a morning at the movies — specifically, “Annie.”

Henrietta Hadley, executive director of Firetree, said the idea was sparked after she heard a 4-year-old girl sing the famous movie’s theme song, “Tomorrow.”

“It literally brought tears to my eyes!” she said, adding that she wanted local children to enjoy and be inspired by the American musical starring Quvenzhané Wallis as Annie, and Jamie Foxx as Will Stacks.

Hadley reached out to Anderson, who in turn reached out to Les Barnhart of Digiplex Cinema Center and other members of the community for donations.  The result was an outpouring of enthusiasm and the entertainment and inspiration of nearly 60 children and family members.

Children and their families, members of Firetree Place in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, were invited to the movies Saturday, Dec. 10, 2015, to enjoy a free showing and concessions of “Annie,” thanks to the generosity of the community. Donations from local sponsors made the event possible and are an example of the Exquisite Life Philanthropy division.
